Welcome to Umps. Your Mobile Alarm is designed to keep you safe wherever you go, whether you're at home, in the garden, at the shops, or out in the community. It works anywhere with mobile coverage, giving you emergency support at the press of a button.
This guide will help you get started and place your first test call.
Your Umps Mobile Alarm comes with:
Everything arrives ready to go. Your Mobile Alarm is already set up and configured.
The Mobile Alarm is a small, lightweight device with a built-in screen, speaker, and microphone. When you raise an alert, you can speak and listen directly through the device. You don't need a phone.
The screen shows your battery level and signal strength, so you can check that your alarm is ready to use.
You can wear your Mobile Alarm in two ways:
Both options keep the alarm close to you and easy to reach. Read more about wearing and caring for your Mobile Alarm.
Before using your Mobile Alarm for the first time, place it on the charging cradle until it's fully charged. This takes about 90 minutes.
To turn it on, press and hold the call button on the side for 1 to 2 seconds. The alarm will start up and connect to the mobile network. This usually takes about 30 seconds.
Once connected, the screen will show the time, battery level, and signal strength. If your alarm doesn't connect, read My Mobile Alarm won't connect to the network.
Once your Mobile Alarm is on and connected, place a test call to make sure everything works:
Your alarm is now ready for everyday use. For a detailed walkthrough, read raising an alert with the Umps Mobile Alarm.
Your Mobile Alarm works with one of two plans:
Professional Response connects you to a 24/7 monitoring centre. When you raise an alert, a trained operator will speak with you and arrange help. Your location is sent to them automatically.
Family Response connects you directly to your family, friends, or carers. You can have up to 5 contacts. When you raise an alert, they receive a call and a text message with your location.
Your alarm is now ready to use. If your Mobile Alarm includes falls detection, read falls detection on the Mobile Alarm to learn how it works and what to expect.
