How to Raise an Alert with Your Umps Mobile Alarm

Raising an Alert with the Umps Mobile Alarm

Introduction

This guide explains how to raise an alert on your Mobile Alarm and what to expect when you do.

How do I raise an alert?

If you need help, press and hold the SOS button for 3 seconds. The alarm will say: "Alert activated."

What happens after I press the button?

After you press the button, you have 15 seconds to cancel if you pressed it by accident. Just press the SOS button again.

If you don't cancel, the alarm sends your alert and your location, then starts a call. With Professional Response, an operator will answer. With Family Response, the alarm will call your nominated contacts one by one, and send each of them a text message with your location.

You can speak and listen through the alarm. Use the side buttons to adjust the volume during the call if needed.

When the call ends, the alarm returns to normal.

What if I press the button by accident?

If it's within 15 seconds, press the SOS button again to cancel.

If the call has already connected, let the person on the line know it was unintentional and they will close the call.

Does my Mobile Alarm detect falls?

Yes. Your Mobile Alarm can detect when you may have fallen and raise an alert automatically. If a fall is detected, the alarm will vibrate and play a warning sound. You have about 15 seconds to cancel if it was a false alarm. If you don't cancel, the alarm will raise an alert just as if you had pressed the SOS button.

For more information, see falls detection on the Mobile Alarm.

How does my location get shared?

Every time you raise an alert, your Mobile Alarm sends your location along with it. This means help can find you even if you're not sure where you are or can't speak.

Location tracking works best outdoors. Indoors, it may be less accurate, so it's always helpful to tell the person on the line where you are if you can.
