How to Test the Range of Your Umps Home Alarm

How do I test the range of my Home Alarm?

Introduction

Your Pendant works up to 100 metres from the Hub, but walls and building materials can reduce the effective range. You can test the range in your home at any time to make sure your Pendant works wherever you need it.

How do I test the range?

  1. Press the Notification Button (the small button with a dash) on the Hub five times.
  2. The Hub will say: "Range Test activated. Press your pendant to test its range."
  3. Walk to different parts of your home and press the Pendant at each location. The Hub will tell you whether you're in range.
  4. When you're finished, press the Cancel Button (marked with an X) on the Hub. The test will also end automatically after 15 minutes.

While Range Test Mode is active, pressing your Pendant will not raise an alert.

When should I test the range?

We recommend testing the range when you first set up your alarm, and again if you move the Hub to a new location. Pay particular attention to rooms where you spend the most time, and higher-risk areas like the bathroom and garden.
