Falls Detection Keeps Going Off – False Alarms Explained

Falls detection keeps going off

Introduction

Your Mobile Alarm uses sensors to detect when you may have fallen. Occasionally, sudden movements or impacts can trigger a false alarm. This is normal, but if it's happening too often, we can help.

Cancel the alert within 15 seconds

When the alarm thinks you've fallen, it will vibrate and play a warning sound. You have about 15 seconds to cancel by pressing the SOS button or the red cross on the screen.

If the call has already connected, just let the person on the line know it was a false alarm.

Movements that can cause false alarms

Things like sitting down quickly, a sharp hand gesture, or dropping the alarm can sometimes trigger the falls detector. This doesn't mean anything is wrong with your alarm. For more detail on how the sensor works, see falls detection on the Mobile Alarm.

Contact us to adjust the sensitivity

If you're finding that falls detection triggers too often, you can adjust the sensitivity to better suit your activity level.

If you'd prefer to turn off falls detection entirely, we can do that too.
